We promised you we would continue to share some great leadership in yoga, and this fall we begin with Thomas Ashley-Farrand from Portland Oregon, also known as Namadeva.  Those of you who know him, know he is a master with mantra, after nearly 40 years working as a Vedic Priest for Sant Keshavadas.  He is the author of "Healing Mantras" , "Chakra Mantras", "True Stories of Spiritual Power", and many, many mantra CD's. Namadeva dedicates his life work to mantra therapy.  The repetition of mantra is powerful and amazing, and Namadeva can help you to experience it for yourself! 

GAYATRI PUJA  Oct 24th 7-9:30pm
Friday night Namadeva will offer a Gayatri Puja, sharing the 1000 names and powers of Gayatri.  His puja ceremonies are very traditional and moving.  Last year I enjoyed the Lalita Puja he performed in Calgary.  Dress up in your best and come and experience this auspicious event! 

ENLIGHTENMENT and SAMADHI mantras:
Oct 25-26, 9am-5pm
Saturday and Sunday Namadeva will teach us mantras for Enlightenment and Samadhi, each using a mala and repeating them 108 times to feel and experience their power, and journaling our personal experiences.  Ask your questions, share, and enjoy his wisdom of these powerful and sacred mantras. 

THE GAYATRI MANTRA:  Long and Short Form
Namadeva first learned from his Guru the long form Gayatri Mantra, which addresses the 7 lokas and the 7 chakras.  It wasn’t until later he learned the more common short form of this sacred mantra.  He will teach us this  mantra, and on Sunday Namadeva will offer an authentic initiation into the long form of the Gayatri Mantra for those who wish it.  Opportunities to be Initiated into a mantra of such power don’t come often, so make sure you take Namadeva up on this one!
