RYT200® Hour & RYT300® Hour Immersion Programs

The SOYA RYT200® hour Program is offered as a 2 Week Immersion Retreat. Live your yoga and become stable in your practices! The daily sessions include detailed instruction and practice in various styles of Hatha Yoga such as Ashtanga, Sivananda, Flow and Yin. Morning and evening meditation, chanting, pranayama, and group review and discussion will shed light on the written assignments in philosophy.

To pull it all together students design a series of 6 Yoga Lesson Plans. This is a very detailed assignment covering benefits, precautions and modifications for asanas and pranayama, and meditation techniques. Students practice their teaching skills throughout the entire program. Upon completion there is a written exam and practical exam.

Course Curriculum:

1) There are 14 philosophy assignments to be completed prior to arriving at the Immersion portion of the Program. Textbooks and a Manual will be sent to you upon registration.

2) You will attend 30 hours of practical asana work with an approved Yoga Teacher. We will help you to arrange this. You will pay the fees for these classes directly to the source of instruction.

3) You will need to take a basic course in Anatomy and Physiology. If you have done this in the past, you do not need to redo this. One convenient and cost effective option can be found at www.ed2go.com for approximately $150. This will cover the systems of the body in 12 lessons over 6 weeks (you have 2 weeks to complete each lesson). Each month has an entry date to the program.

4) You will need current certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR.

If Anatomy and Physiology, First Aid/ CPR and 30 hours of instruction with Faculty are not completed prior to the retreat, your SOYA RYT200® certificate will be given upon there completion of them.

You are encouraged to register 1-2 months in advance of each Immersion Retreat to ensure completion of all homework assignments.

Program fees do not include:
Accommodation or meals. Each location provides paid accommodation or billeting for reasonable fees (see posters for details).
30 hours of instruction with approved Yoga Teachers
Anatomy & Physiology training and current First Aid/CPR certificate.
These costs are additional and paid by you directly to the source of instruction.

300 hour Immersions are held occasionally for those of you who wish to upgrade to your 500 hour certification with SOYA. These Immersions are offered in a similar format to the 200 Hour Immersions. The curriculum covered is the same as the 300 Hour Extended Upgrade and can be seen here
