I am a heart-lead teacher, who is inspired strongly by mantra and pranayam. I teach with a focus on breath in order to guide students through a practice of self-awareness, acknowledging the uniqueness of each and every body in each and every asana. My being a Massage Therapist has truly ignited a deep sense of awe of anatomy and physiology-how our body is built and how it functions, bringing me into deeper connection with movement. I have spent a lot of time working with expectant bodies-changing much from week to week, aging bodies and bodies in chronic pain. It has been through these classes (and students) that I have learned the true dance between strength and grace. Being a Reflexologist (RAC RCRT) I have an exuberant love for setting foundations, yet being a Birth Keeper, Birth/Postpartum Doula has taught me that with foundations set, one must surrender to Lila and the present moment in order to see the light in it all. I teach Gentle Hatha, Hatha, Flow, Yin, Prenatal, Postnatal, Mom and Baby and Yoga for those in their Golden Years! I am excited to be here and even more so that you are too! I would also like to thank my teachers past and present: Amy Thiessen, Jenelle Kitto (my forever friend) who I completed my 200hr under in YYC, Tash Scott (my soul sister), Bernie Clark (my YIN teacher), Neil Pearson (for teaching me about Pain and Yoga), Dale McLean (who helped me start a MS focused class and who held space for my Brain Injury group), Hirdaya (my meditation teacher), Mugs and Mug's teacher Hari (for sharing their infinite wisdom), Mantrini (my beautiful teacher of all things Bhakti), Becky (my teacher with infinite grace), and to the following who are not "yogis" but have taught me something along the way Elder Sequoyah Trueblood, Dave Warren, Gary Keeling, Jeannie Ward, and Em Durling. I am eternally grateful for all you have shared. In the words of Sequoyah Trueblood, Great Thanks. Great Peace. Great Love
